CUAC

View of the building from across the street.

Sculpture in the garden.

C.C.A. Christensen's cabin. You can see the chalkboard
 through the window.

Another view of the cabin.

More from the sculpture garden.

I love the quilt block on the old building!

Our town has a wonderful art center, CUAC.  Unfortunately, our town leaders have decided to pull funding and evict the art center from a city owned building.  I am appalled!  This art center is nationally know for contemporary art and brings a lot of visitors to town.  A petition has been set up and I would encourage you to read it and hopefully sign it as well.  You can read the city council meeting minutes online at the Ephraim city website.

I had a wonderful experience participating in an art project by a renowned Icelandic artist, Huginn Arason.  I have previously blogged about it here.  I hope that this art center can be saved!

Quilting in Wales

Tada!  The T-shirt quilt!
Just need to tack down the binding

Lisa's Red and White quilt.

Charlotte's interlocking rings quilt.
I belong to a fun little group in the small town of Wales.  It is about 15 miles northwest of here.  Very small town, not a single store, cafe or post office.  Nice group of ladies.  I meant to take more photos, but it is what it is.  I did get the quilting finished on my T-shirt quilt.  I am hoping to get the binding tacked down tonight, I want to wash it tomorrow and then give it to my nephew on Saturday.  So I am off to make a pillowcase to go with the quilt.

A New Pattern in my Craftsy store!

Stockinette Dish Cloth

I listed another Dish Cloth Pattern on my Craftsy store!  This is for a Simple Straight Knit Dish Cloth.  I am trying to train myself in writing up knitting patterns, so I thought I would start with some simple dish cloth patterns.  This is a free pattern.  I would appreciate any any feedback.  Thanks.

Dye Party

Marbling with shaving cream.

Ice dyeing.

Ice parfait dyeing.

I love these wild ones!

Another fun piece!

This was one of my pieces.

Urea sprinkles.

Nice stripes.

More Urea.

I love the greens!

Betty Jo's beautiful flowers!
I had a lot of fun at the Dye Party!  My daughter joined me in dyeing fabric.  Lisa and Anne were the leaders, and they did a wonderful job!  They will be teaching a dye class and a surface design class at the Utah Quilt Guild's Quilt Fest held in St. George, Utah this September.  It should be a lot of fun!  I will be co-teaching a class with another friend, Lisa B.  It is called "Trip for Two".  You sign up with a friend and then work on a joint project.  At the end of the day, you will each have a quilt top!

T-shirt Quilting

Interfaced and labeled with measurements.

Pile of blocks that have strips added.

Larger pile of blocks that don't have strips added.

Fabric for the strips.
I am making progress on the T-shirt quilt for my nephew.  I have all the blocks fused to interfacing, cut to size and labeled with the size.  I want to have this quilt finished in time to give it to him when we see each other on the 21st.  Wish me luck!

By the way, does anyone think that a T-shirt quilt pattern would be a good one for my pattern store at Craftsy?
